Our award winning technology

In May 2022 we set out on a new journey to make mortgage applications easier for our intermediary partners. We launched a state-of-the-art broker portal, which we spent 18 months building, bringing everything in-house so we have much more control over our technology. What’s more, the system was built based on research among intermediaries who told us what they wanted from a mortgage origination system.

We think we have delivered on that as the feedback we’ve received from intermediaries has been amazing with praise on how easy, fast and efficient the portal is to use. But that’s not all, our broker portal is an award winning system as we scooped the Best Use of IT for Lending in the Banking Tech Awards 2022 – run by Fintech Futures/Banking Technology magazine.

In addition, we were runners-up in the UK IT Industry Awards 2022, run by the Chartered Institute for IT and Computing, for Best Financial Services IT Project of the Year. We came second to a collaboration between two massive companies – Nationwide in partnership with IBM.

What people say about our broker portal

So why has our broker portal been recognised and judged by technology experts as worthy of winning awards?

The Banking Tech feedback was: “The judges said the solution addressed a critical gap in the buy-to-let journey, it was innovative and nicely implemented into a single portal. They liked the re-calculation engine that narrows the field of products.”

But more importantly here are some of the things intermediaries have said:

• Landbay is one of the best portals in the market in terms of understanding the case details
• It’s very easy to find the product that I’m after on the website and then assess the affordability by using the calculator
• The fact that you can easily see why a product isn’t available as you are filling in the application form is extremely helpful and something other lender platforms don’t do

USPs

That last point is a real game changer and something that is unique to our portal, we don’t know any other lender who has this function. As you fill in the application form, each question answered will intuitively take you towards the product most suitable for your client. The system has the ability to see products that are not unavailable, specifying the reasons why. This ensures no time is wasted trying to apply for a product that the client is not eligible for.

The broker portal is also extremely fast and takes on average less than half the time for brokers to submit applications than previously, once the decision in principle has been converted to the full mortgage application.

If a broker’s client is making applications for multiple properties, even more time is saved as you only need to submit one decision in principle to full application. You simply clone the remaining cases, amending property details as required. You have a full view of all your cases and the stage they are to easily track progress with advanced search and filter options.
