The government launched the HM Treasury’s Women in Finance Charter in March 2016 to encourage the financial services industry to improve gender balance in senior management.

In 2017 we signed up to the Charter to promote a balanced and fair workplace and to support the progression of women within our organisation. More than 400 firms are now signed up to the Charter covering over a million employees across the financial services sector.

The Charter

There are three objectives within the Charter:

  • Commits firms to supporting the progression of women into senior roles in the financial services sector by focusing on the executive pipeline and the mid-tier level.
  • Recognises the diversity of the sector and that firms will have different starting points – each firm should therefore set its own targets and implement the right strategy for its organisation.
  • Requires firms to publicly report on progress to deliver against these internal targets to support the transparency and accountability needed to drive change.

Our targets

The Women in Finance Charter has become part of our DNA and we continually document our commitments and the progress we are making.

  • As part of our recruitment process, there is a minimum of one female representative on every interview panel. This is to ensure any unconscious bias is reduced and women in our business have a voice. All senior managers have completed Equality & Diversity & Unconscious Bias training as part of their management development.
  • For any additions to executive management or the board of directors, at least one woman must be shortlisted. We continue to commit to this and over the last 12 months expanded our executive team to include a further female member. We have also replaced a member of the team and two of the four shortlisted candidates were female.
  • Landbay now has two female members in the executive team, keeping female representation at the top level of the business. Combined with 40% of our senior managers being women, we have demonstrated that we are committed to hiring a strong and successful team with no gender bias. Landbay is growing at rapid pace, throughout this we have maintained our commitment to the recruitment practices outlined above. We continue to build a strong team and closely monitor our gender ratio as we grow.

We are a proud supporter of #WomeninFinance
